Among this week's introductions is the PlayCube Steam Box. Powered by a Gigabyte motherboard, the Steam Box features premium components ideal for graphically intensive titles, along with 4K ultra- high resolution output, surround-sound audio, and class-leading energy eff ciency, the company said. With near-silent operation, clean lines and a sleek 4-inch by 2-inch by 5-inch casing, it tucks discreetly into an entertainment center for PC gam- ing in the living room. Unlike competitors using the Steam OS, Windows comes pre-installed to en- sure maximum compatibility with all games. Em- tec claims its Steam Box is also 10 percent faster than the larger Alienware Alpha, which is compa- rably priced.
