162 | 2015 INTERNATIONAL CES DAILY | JANUARY 6-9, 2015 NEW & NOTEWORTHY NEW PRODUCTS DEBUTING AT 2015 INTERNATIONAL CES CESWEB.ORG #CES2015 Astralink Shows Versatile LifeTouch Smart loT Gateway BOOTH 21000 Astralink Technology is showcasing the LifeTouch smart Internet of Thing (IoT) gateway for home that supports multiple RF controllers commonly used for home automation, such as Z-Wave, Bluetooth 4.0/Bluetooth LE and/or ZigBee. LifeTouch also has a DECT transceiver for wireless two-way audio com- munication, 2.4GHz wideband RF for digital wireless CCTV, an NFC card reader, built-in RS485 support and LAN connectivity. These hardware combinations, to- gether with the right software, allow LifeTouch to be conf ¬gured for various use cases, such as: Smart Elderly Monitor ing and Alert System (SEMAS): SEMAS is a non-intrusive, non-evasive el- derly monitoring system that makes surveillance use of Z-Wave wireless motion and contact sensors to track activity of the elderly at home. Data collected from sen- sors are pushed to the Cloud for further data analytic. Through smart analytics and unique elderly pro¬f ling, alert noti¬f cations will be sent out to next-of-kin or to a caregiver should abnormalities be detected, such as no movements within a certain period of time. Also, Z-Wave panic buttons can be activated by an el- derly user requiring emergency help from the caregiver/next of kin. Wireless Alarm System: A set of wireless security and safety sensors such as siren, contact sensors, motion sensors, glass break detectors, shutter openers, etc. are paired to LifeTouch to create a Wireless Alarm System. Through a user-friendly 7-inch display or smartphone apps, a user can set up alarm parti- tions, whereby different types of sensors or a group of sensors can be conf ¬gured so that an alarm/siren will be activated, depending on the sequence of sensor triggers. Such alarm partitioning helps prevent false alarms and provides a very reliable alarm system to prevent unwanted intrusions. Green Hotel Project: With use of energy clamps, smart plugs/switches, dimmers and smart meters, LifeTouch acts as an in-room terminal that provides the necessary energy-related information and break- down of the energy consumption used by appliances in the room to the guests. This information helps to create awareness and provide necessary guides on how the guests could help to reduce the energy con- sumption effectively. Every check-in to the room begins with a 100 percent energy quota for the day, and this quota will decrease as energy being used. eHealth: Bluetooth 4.0-enabled medical devices, such as glucose meters, blood-pressure meters and a wellness weighing scale are paired to LifeTouch to enable remote monitoring of patients' well-being by healthcare providers. If a patient does not take the necessary reading at a stipulated time, or if the vital signs of the patient are not within the thresholds set, alerts will be sent out to the healthcare provider and/or patient. This system helps hospitals or healthcare providers improve healthcare services, reduce costs and increase productivity. Pricing and availability will be announced at the show.
